Cream & White — Will This Color Combination Ever Be Able To Coexist?

Can it — can the color cream go with the color white?

There’s a very fine line here. Most people don’t think this works. Most of the time, you’re sort of forced to pick.

Do you want your white to be creamy or do you want your white to be bright white, with no color? Because pairing these two together in the same space can sometimes look off.

You KNOW how many shades of white, cream, and many other neutrals there are out there. Want to know how I know besides doing what I do everyday for a living?

Order something online.

Order something online that says the color is white and see what you get. I can’t tell you how important it is to get samples, see things in person, and judge with your own eyeballs, this color variation thing. You can read about all the reasons why here.

So, keeping that white a true white in your room, with all the elements out there you put into it, or maintaining everything in a cream color that is supposed to be a cream, can be next to impossible.

Many a big, costly mistake has been made with this cream/white nuance. And yes, even I have made this mistake.

Will the cream and white combination ever work?

Will they ever be able to beautifully coexist?

Will cream ever NOT look exceptionally yellow and dirty next to a pure bright white?

And will white ever NOT look soulless and void of personality next to a rich cream?

The answer is…

Yes!

And I’ve found a few examples I want to show you that prove these two colors can coexist, because…

Well, honestly, I can’t really explain why. Maybe it’s because when something looks deliberate, as opposed to an accident, anything seems possible.

However, regardless of me not being able to pinpoint why the following examples work so well, I do know that I’m 100% certain that there’s hope for this color-combo being able to cooperate with each other. And the following examples, I’m sure, will provide you with the same unspoken evidence that made a believer out of me. 😉
